SERVICES - P450 Induction
In addition, IVAL now offers a proprietary screening induction assay in primary human hepatocytes (3-donors). Enzyme induction is a major mechanism of pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions. A drug that induces a specific drug metabolizing enzyme (e.g. a specific P450 isoform) would have the potential to enhance the metabolism of a co-administered drug that is a substrate of the induced pathway. This approach is recommended by U. S. FDA.
IVAL now offers a proprietary screening induction assay in primary human hepatocytes to evaluate multiple drug candidates that is fast and within your research budget. Our robot assisted HTS CYP3A induction assay provides highly accurate and reproducible results. We have a capacity to screen for 100 compounds per week, and can provide you with results within 10 days of receiving your chemicals. The strength of this assay is that primary human hepatocytes are used – not PXR-reporter transfected cell systems which are known to lack appropriate drug metabolizing enzymes and compromised gene regulation pathways such as nuclear receptor cross-talks.
Screening methods for CYP1A and CYP3A have been established. Additional CYPs are in the development phase and will be introduced in the near future.
